Question for those high-end audio industry?
I am interested to know if the speakers are actually better in 1987 than today's typical Logitech Panasonic Sony speakers. In 1987, I mean a top line player audio CD that is quite large and bulky speakers that cost $ 10,000 or more. To this day I refer to the speaker systems you buy at BestBuy for under $ 500. My question has to do with curiosity. Back in the village 80 years were using the audio cassette tape. Charlie Sheen character in the 1987 film Wall Street had a CD player in your portfolio. Are we really so far? Any mp3 player (today) is better than the cassette (of old), but what about 1987 CD audio system with the best orators of his time?
lol – I thought you wanted answers from people in the field of hi end audio! Contrary to what was said there louspeakers (!!!) .. not only from 1987 … but from as early as the 1960s that thoroughly defeated no less than $ 500 you can get today! Google electrostats vintage quad to take a look at one time or example LS3a Rogers (very different, not so pretty excellent field monitors, but as near-). The reason for this is that "the speakers are an older technology and there are many many good examples of time … you can buy some (though unfortunately not quads) for very little money. On the audio tape? even a compact cassette can sound better than MP3 if you use something delicious as a dragon Player Nakamichi … to some extent always will whistle with cassette, but Hi-Gear end as the dragon sounds totally different to what most people think of when you think about audio! about 87 cassettes CD …. mmmhmhm – not so good because it was relatively new, but there are some good links CD transport out there … I think that Kenwood was the first and he still beat most CD players, no doubt the budget, if it is linked to a good DAC. amplifiers are not the same old vintage speakers – much has changed in the last 20 years. If you do a lil research you can find amps and speakers Vintage really impresses you … and because most people think similarly to the views of many of the other respondents' … There are some great bargains to be had. cos of consumers who buy with no bias with their ears – (so strange cult following Bose!) (ok, ok – not horrible, just very expensive compared to what someone who knows anything about Hi-Fi could source), finally – Although this is not a response to you specifically – is still regarded vuinyl by most respondents Hi-Fi as the gold standard for playing music "because it has high and low frequency restrictions on cd … this only becomes really obvious when you use good speakers and a good deck, but it is very obvious if you can get a hi-fi show and have a listen for yourself. (The other reason is that the switch from analog to digital and back again, that's what your Hi-Fi every time you turn a CD, provided some information is lost vinyl .. is an analog source put through ampolification analog, analog transponders (speakers), so if done right, sounds more like the original live musical event. PS – if you think I'm a 'flat earth' … at the moment I'm listening to a digital source (water-cooled, over-clocked PC) through DAC built from hand feeding two digital amplifiers have largely altered and run tape tweetered transmission line speakers) and digital I LOVE! most people have never heard what the formats can do when done correctly … I prefer the ease of using digital to analog and I'm willing to take the small decrease in sound quality that is inevitable. thanks for the opportunity that I really liked Rant! = P = D
