WOW … that's an interesting question. I'm not so sure that the real difference is obvious! If I had to guess … The lacquer finish is probably the "most brilliant" of resonance and silver is the "richest." I am deriving from my opinion that I used to be in the band. I mean … get the one you like the look of. I had a trombone tricolor. There were brass, nickel and copper that was lacquered. You link with your instrument that you choose. It's like picking a puppy! When you become a professional … you can get accustomed to the facts. A band director of the school should have an opinion. That's my best answer!
